Wood Products
DOUGLAS FIR
Douglas Fir from the forests of the Pacific Northwest and British Columbia has been prized for generations for its beauty, strength and suitability for a wide variety of applications from construction to high-end joinery. Pound for pound it is one of the strongest woods in the world, while its rich yellow-orange hues & exceptional work-ability make it popular for doors, window and floors as well as interior and exterior trim.
HEMLOCK
Western Hemlock grows along the Pacific Coast from Oregon into the Alaskan Panhandle. It is a popular substitute for Douglas fir and Western Red Cedar in interior applications because of its affordability and flexibility. It machines well and has a very neutral, light color that fits today’s lighter interior design schemes or can be stained to match woods as diverse as walnut and maple. It is also the most abundant commercially available fine grain softwood.
WESTERN RED CEDAR
Western Red Cedar has long been the most prized softwood from the forests of the Pacific Northwest. It is lightweight, strong, stable, rot and insect resistant, fine textured and beautiful. Its many uses include outdoor furniture, trim, siding, shakes and shingles, decking, pergolas and other landscape structures as well as interior paneling and trim.
ALASKAN YELLOW CEDAR
Alaskan Yellow Cedar is the newest addition to our product line. It is uniformly light in color, fine textured, virtually free of sapwood, dimensionally stable and extremely durable. It mills very easily and yields a glass-like finish. Alaskan Yellow Cedar is the ideal choice for exterior applications such as trim, soffits and siding where beauty, stability and resistance to harsh weather conditions are required. Its light, uniform coloring also makes Alaskan Yellow Cedar a unique choice for interior applications such as paneling and moldings.
